- has a time limit of 30 or 60 minutes (whether a weekly or monthly quiz – see below)
- has a pass mark of 80%
- allows two attempts
- gives you a personalised CPD hours certificate each time you pass a quiz.
Enter your CPD hours in your FPA Professional Development Record (FPA’s template linked here).
Note: For the purposes of Tax Practitioners Board CPE, each 1 hour of CPD equates to 1 hour of CPE.
You need to read the relevant Cuffelinks Newsletter or individual articles before or while completing each quiz. These can be accessed by clicking the Previous Editions button below or following the link to the article embedded in the questions. Remember that these tests are part of a professional training standard and results should not be copied or shared with other people.
Please respect that these tests are expensive to provide and they are testing whether people have read the relevant articles. The FPA sometimes asks for a review of results.
From August 2018, we are providing a monthly CPD quiz, which will randomly select 5 questions from various articles for that month. The time limit for completion of the monthly quiz is 60 minutes. Previous weekly quizzes will remain open until they expire, 12 months from their start date.
The Cuffelinks Continuing Professional Development Programme
Cuffelinks supports the need for industry professionals to continue to develop their skills, and the CPD programme helps maintain the currency of knowledge and expand ability. CPD should not be considered a compliance obligation, but a way to grow and perform better.
The Cuffelinks CPD Programme is for professionals who have CPD obligations, plus any financial markets participants who must complete a Training Register to show they have maintained their knowledge and skills.
Each edition of the Cuffelinks Newsletter will be accompanied by a short quiz, and the CPD Certificate should be stored in your personal Professional Development Record. Please note that while the results will be emailed to you, until later development, we do not have a record system you can access to see your previous results.
The CPD Programme allows subscribers to earn hours at their own pace and when it suits them, and is complimentary to Cuffelinks readers due to the support of our Sponsors.
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) is an alliance partner of Cuffelinks. Under the CPD requirements for members of the FPA, CFP Professionals must accumulate at least 120 CPD points over three years (90 points for non-CFP Financial Planners). The Cuffelinks CPD Programme is Accredited by an Authorised FPA CPD Assessor which means there is no limit to the number of CPD points which count to the overall requirement.
