Young Australians turning to shares to build wealth

Australian investors, as young as 18, are turning to the sharemarket in record numbers to build their wealth, according to new data released by nabtrade.

While turnover activity remained strong across all generations, the data showed the number of Gen Z and Gen Y investors who held domestic shares jumped by more than 68% and about 16% respectively in the 12 months to 31 July.
